With the Prelate on the Assumption

On August 15, during his pastoral visit to Colombia, Bishop Javier Echevarria spoke about love for our Lady in the example of Saint Josemaria.

(Translation of the Prelate's words is found below):

For me this feast brings to mind many memories since it is the anniversary of the consecration our Father made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Holy Mary, our Hope, Seat of Wisdom, Handmaid of the Lord, Mother of Fair Love. By you powerful intercession, make this consecration pleasing to Jesus. We consecrate to you our being and our life, all that is ours, what we have and what we are.

You can speak with your friends, with your relatives, and tell them: today is a great feast of our Lady! And I have placed you under her protection. We have to be children who are affectionate, children who try to be close to our Lady with specific deeds. Ask our Lady to give you the zealous desire to be close to Christ, very close to him, so that you may speak about him as she did, by her presence close to the Cross; and also by reuniting the Apostles after the Resurrection, who were scattered. And by being with the Church at its beginning, at Pentecost. My children, it depends very much on each one of you that the Church reaches the furthest corner of the world.
